1. Coverage & Jurisdiction

These documents apply to every customer in every U.S. state.

MetroConnects is based in Minnesota. However, federal consumer protection law applies nationally regardless of where you live. Nothing in these documents limits or waives any rights you have under the laws of your state. If any provision conflicts with a mandatory right under your state's law, your state law controls for that provision.

Federal law that applies to all customers

Your state's consumer protection laws apply in full alongside these terms. Examples include the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act (A.R.S. § 44-1521), California Consumer Protection (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200), Texas DTPA (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code § 17.41), and Florida FDUTPA (Fla. Stat. § 501.201), among others. We comply with all of them. Doing business with MetroConnects constitutes acceptance of these terms under the law of the state in which service is received.

2. Terms of Service

Services offered

MetroConnects provides the following categories of services to residential and business customers:

Each service engagement is governed by the specific scope and pricing agreed upon at the time of purchase. By completing any payment or signing any proposal with MetroConnects, you are accepting and entering into this service agreement.

Pricing & estimates

Our Deep Scan & Clean ($39.99) scans and automatically fixes your computer — the scan, tune-up, and repair are one product. No packages are shown until after your results, based on what your computer actually needs. Additional services are only offered if Deep Scan & Clean finds issues it cannot resolve on its own. All other services are quoted in writing before work begins. You will never be charged beyond the agreed amount without your separate written approval. Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date of the proposal.

Refund policy

If MetroConnects is unable to deliver a service through no fault of your own, you will receive a full refund within 3–5 business days. Once a service has been rendered, payment is non-refundable except where a written guarantee applies (see Section 5). If you are dissatisfied, contact us through our form within 7 days and we will work to resolve the issue.

Acceptable use

You represent that you are authorized to request the services described, including any systems, accounts, or equipment involved. You are at least 18 years of age or have parental/guardian consent. Services are provided within the United States.

Third-party services & equipment

Some MetroConnects services are delivered using third-party infrastructure, equipment, or platforms. MetroConnects takes full responsibility for the services it sells. The identity of underlying technology providers is confidential and not disclosed to customers.

Limitation of liability

MetroConnects is not liable for pre-existing conditions, data loss from pre-existing failures, or issues caused by third-party software, hardware, or actions outside our control. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. Some states do not allow limitation of certain damages — in those states, the limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Governing law & disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota and applicable federal law. Customers outside Minnesota retain all rights under their own state's consumer protection laws. Disputes shall be resolved in Olmsted County, Minnesota, unless your state's mandatory law requires otherwise. Nothing here prevents you from filing a complaint with your state attorney general or the FTC (see Section 6).

These terms are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. The version in effect at the time of your transaction governs that transaction. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.

3. Privacy Notice

What our technician can see during your session

Your screen, running programs, system files, and technical diagnostic data. This is limited to what is necessary to perform the diagnostic scan and fixes you requested.

What we never access or store

Our repair tools examine executable code, system processes, registry entries, and drive health data only. They do not read, access, copy, or transmit the contents of your personal files, documents, photos, or communications. Repair-focused access is a practice standard for all sessions.

By design, we do not retain raw diagnostic data from your computer after your session. Our service record stores only the category of issues found — not the specific files, paths, or processes involved. This is architectural, not just policy: the system is built so that raw scan data is never written to any persistent storage.

Data security

We implement technical and organizational security measures consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314). Remote sessions use encrypted transport. Diagnostic data is stored on secured infrastructure with access controls.

Your rights — all customers, all states

To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form or call (507) 246-2462. We will respond within 30 days. California residents have additional rights under CCPA. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas residents have additional rights under their respective state privacy laws. All such rights are honored.

Raw scan data is not retained by architectural design. Service records contain issue categories only.

4. Remote Access Authorization

By completing payment for a remote support session, you authorize MetroConnects to remotely connect to your computer under the following terms:

If at any point during the session you feel uncomfortable, close the remote access application immediately. The connection terminates instantly. Call (507) 246-2462 with any concerns.

Legal basis for remote access

Your payment and use of the service constitute your express written consent for this single-session remote access as required by the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030) and applicable state computer access statutes. MetroConnects will never access your computer without an active, paid service authorization on file.

This authorization is governed by applicable federal and state law and does not grant any ongoing, recurring, or future access rights.

5. 30-Day Service Guarantee

If the specific issue we addressed returns within 30 days from the same root cause, MetroConnects will reconnect and fix it at no charge.

Call (507) 246-2462 or use our contact form within 30 days of your session date. Reference your session ID (provided in your confirmation). We will schedule a follow-up session at no charge.

This guarantee is in addition to — and does not replace — any rights you have under your state's consumer protection laws or implied warranty laws.

6. Your Complaint Rights

If you have a concern about our service that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to file a complaint with the following agencies at no cost to you:

Customers in every state have the right to file a complaint with their state attorney general's office. Search "[your state] attorney general consumer complaint" to find your state's filing portal. We will cooperate fully with any regulatory inquiry.
